  43. IMHO, it is simply too much trouble to worry about it. I always leave
  44. it on, because there is simply not enough of a difference to justify
  45. turning it off and on all the time.

  47. Unless you're transferring a 20 meg file, by the time you disconnect,
  48. turn v.42bis off, reconnect, and start transferring, it will probably
  49. take more time than if you were to just leave it alone and not worry 
  50. about the 3 cps you're going to lose.
